I have been happily basking in sexual gluttony all over the world for over 20 years now. As a young man I had heard stories told of the sexual bounty that was to be had overseas but it all seemed so far away and out of reach. Then one day my personal life hit such a rocky point that I couldn't take it anymore and booked a trip to Thailand. I was nervous and scared, but most of all, excited. All the fantasies that I had carefully stored away in my head were now screaming for release.
I didn't sleep a wink on the plane.
Upon arrival I was immediately hit by the strangeness of it all. The heat, the people, the language. Over the next week I started to get a bit of a feel for Bangkok. But that wasn't before I had been mildly ripped off here and there, wasted countless hours searching for things I shouldn't have had to search for, and dealt with situations I shouldn't have had to deal with. All in hundred degree weather!
It was all worth it. The carnal pleasures that I enjoyed, and continue to enjoy, are almost beyond description.
The fun! The freedom! This is life!
In the following years I went back to Thailand many times and thoroughly explored the country. I made my way to Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and more. I took trips to the Philippines and Hong Kong. Friends, let me tell you, there is no better life than that of a monger.
One day I was sitting on a beach in Thailand, getting a massage from a little cutie and I started to think about my first trip to this wonderful country. I remembered how tough it was to get my bearings and really make the most of my trip. I thought about all the other people who have expressed interest in a mongering trip but were too scared to take the plunge. That's when I decided to write the Bonely Planet.
